BEST MAN GUIDELINES

Below you will find a few guidelines to help you perform the duties of a Best Man.  Remember, these are just a few standard responsibilities.  You may be asked to assist in other ways.  Chances are, the Groom will be too nervous to remember everything!

Bachelor's Party
Whether it's a dinner, a weekend or a wild night out, you are responsible for planning the event as well as arranging the attendance of guests.  Please keep the tastes and morals of others in mind.  Have fun but don't do something you will be sorry for later.

Formal Wear
Help the Groom with the arrangements. A place like Friar Tux Shops, can assist you in helping the Groom and male members of the wedding party select the desired style of formal wear. Offer to return the Groom's Tuxedo, if necessary.

Prior to Ceremony
Offer to arrange payment for the Limousine company, if one is used. Offer to arrange payment or donation to Minister, Pastor, Priest, Reverend, etc.

Day of Wedding Ceremony
Ensure the Groom's timely arrival. Keep the Bride's ring until needed.

Wedding Reception
Give the first toast to the Bride & Groom.  More than likely, unless you are used to speaking in front of large crowds, you'll be nervous too.  Write your thoughts down on a 3x5 card that you can keep near you.  Remember to lift your champagne glass at the end of the toast and encourage everyone to toast our happy couple.  Arrange the Bride & Groom's departure if they are leaving before their reception ends.  Make sure it goes smoothly.
